About John

There was a time when I had developed an unhealthy relationship with myself. This realization marked the beginning of a 10+ year reconnection journey.

During these years, I explored many different approaches for building healthier relationships with myself, with others and with life. I experienced how fundamental these skills are, and also that they often seemed more complicated than they needed to be.

Wanting to make these insights more accessible, I began writing children’s books about empathy, nervous system regulation, and conscious communication.

Today, I share my experience through keynotes, workshops, and coaching on relational intelligence for organizations, leaders, and teams.

The Essence Framework

Authentic leadership, to me, is a state and skillset, where mind, heart and body align so that you can lead yourself and others through uncertainty with the highest degree of authenticity, integrity and confidence.

The Essence framework can support you in fully embodying your authentic leadership. These pillars uniquely combine aspects of nonviolent communication, nervous system regulation, trauma-informed facilitation, systemic coaching, embodiment, mindfulness and shadow work.

When all three pillars come together, we call this an authentic leader.

Authentic Communication

Authentic leaders are able to communicate vulnerably and with confidence. They have the capacity to clearly name their emotions & needs and differentiate between moments to share their inner truth and moments to give empathy to others.

This fosters psychological safety and inspires others to bring their whole self, which can

Self-

Awareness

Authentic leaders are aware of their own triggers, patterns, trauma, projections and personal conditioning. Therefore, they are able to take responsibility of their inner world & can swiftly move out of relational dynamics and stay connected to your vision.

This contributes to healthier relationships, trust, growth and improves decision making

Emotional

Mastery

Authentic leaders are capable of dealing with complex emotional situations and can remain connected to their inner balance, while navigating uncertainty. Being able to bring yourself back into center will be a life saving skill to create the impact you deserve.

This contributes to trust in their organizations and teams.

FAQs

What is Relational Intelligence, and how is it different from coaching, therapy, or traditional leadership training?

Relational Intelligence combines fundamental skills like emotional intelligence, deeper self-awareness of your own patterns and communication skills. It's a holistic framework that applies to personal wellbeing, leadership, culture, communication, and performance, without being therapy.

Who are your keynotes and workshops designed for?

Leadership teams, CEOs, HR teams, founders, healthcare and education institutions.

What changes after your keynote or workshop?

Participants leave with a new lens for understanding themselves and others, and practical tools they can apply immediately.

They develop conflict competence, learn to stay grounded in high-stakes situations, and understand how their patterns shape the quality of their relationships at work and at home. Teams often report more trust, fewer unnecessary tensions, more innovation, and a stronger sense of psychological safety.

Leaders gain a practical framework for building healthier cultures and high performing teams.

People relate differently and that changes everything.

Is your work research-backed? What is it based on?

Relational Intelligence is grounded in research from psychology, neuroscience, and leadership development, as well as many years of applied practice in real teams and organizations.

The ideas are informed by how humans regulate emotions, build trust, form culture, and create meaning through relationships. What makes this work unique is not just the theory, but how these insights are translated into simple, practical ways people can use in everyday life and leadership.

What is the format of your sessions?

Offerings can be adapted to your needs and context, including:

- 45–60 minute keynote talks

- Half-day or full-day workshops

- Multi-session journeys for teams or leaders

- Ongoing organizational consulting

- Together, we design the format that best serves your goals and audience.

Even in keynote format, participants are invited into moments of reflection and connection. In workshops, the experience becomes more interactive, with guided exercises, conversations, and real-life application.

What makes your approach different from other leadership or wellbeing speakers?

Many talks inspire people for a moment. Relational Intelligence offers a framework people continue to use long after the session ends.

Instead of focusing only on performance, wellbeing, or communication as separate topics, this work shows how they are all connected through the quality of our relationships with ourselves, with others, and with our work.

Participants often say they have never seen these themes brought together in such a clear and practical way.

What does the booking process look like?

Start by reaching out through the contact form. From there, we schedule a short conversation to understand your context, goals, and audience.

You then receive a tailored proposal with suggested formats and focus areas. Once confirmed, the session is customized specifically for your organization.

Why is Relational Intelligence important?

Because the quality of our lives, our leadership, and our cultures is shaped by the quality of our relationships.

Most challenges in teams and organizations, like miscommunication, burnout, conflict, disengagement, are not technical problems. They are relational ones.

Relational Intelligence gives people a way to understand and improve how they relate: to themselves, to others, and to the work they do. It combines various approaches from emotional intelligence, communication and embodiment in a unique and simple way. How we relate changes everything.
